Okay, so we’re now into the second month of 2025, and people are eager to know: what home trends are on the rise? What are designers bringing into our homes this year? Well, I’m here to fill you in. In short, we’re seeing a lot of romance, colour, and feminine touches — and honestly, I’m loving it. Let’s take a deeper dive into these exciting trends.

1. Moto Boho Decor
There’s a new decor style to be aware of; Moto Boho Decor. A fusion of ’70s bohemian style and edgy biker aesthetics, this trend combines contrasting elements to create a unique, free-spirited ambiance. Incorporating both romantic and rugged textures, such as lace alongside leather, and balancing feminine colour palettes with bold accents, can achieve this look.
This style is really cool — if I had to label it, I’d call it gender-neutral. It’s not too feminine and not too masculine, which makes it a great fit for most families. It’s an easy style to achieve, and it’s not overly fancy or bougie. Instead, it feels more homey, which I can definitely get behind.

This trend is one I’m a bit on the fence about. I think this type of artwork can be cool, but at times, it can also feel a bit too “gothic” for my taste. That said, I do think people are getting bored of the same old thing, and this is a great way to add something unique to a space.

Blues and greens are emerging as the new neutral colours for home décor, replacing traditional shades like creams and grays. These nature-inspired hues are versatile and create calming, familiar environments.
Blue is one of those colours that everyone loves. As I’ve mentioned on the blog before, blue is the foolproof accent colour that most clients can agree on. Because of this, I’ve kind of always seen blue as a sort of neutral.

I’m really loving the 2025 trends and the direction interior design is heading—it’s definitely more my style. I’m still a little traumatized from the 2010s grey era, so I’m glad to see people bringing some fun and personality back into their spaces. If you’re not into bold statements, these trends can definitely be incorporated in subtle ways. Or, you can say “forget the trends” and do whatever feels right for you! Personally, I don’t keep up with trends as much as I probably should, since I tend to focus more on capturing my clients’ unique style and creating timeless designs.
