The Best Furniture and Decor Stores In Toronto

As a born-and-raised Torontonian—and a designer—I’ve made it my mission to find the best furniture and decor stores the city has to offer. After living in downtown Toronto for nearly four years, I’ve explored and sourced from countless home stores across the city.

So, I’ve finally put together a curated list of the best furniture and decor stores in Toronto. I’ll break it all down for you: where to shop for which items and aesthetic.

AVOID COSTLY (AND UGLY) DESIGN MISTAKES

Designer’s Go-To Local Toronto Home Decor Stores

1. Tonic Living

The Best Furniture and Decor Stores In Toronto

Tonic Living is a fabulous destination for accent cushions, home textiles, including drapery and upholstery fabric, small home accessories, and drapery hardware. They offer a highly curated collection featuring high-quality fabrics in styles that work beautifully in contemporary homes.

I personally own a few cushions from Tonic Living (pictured above is the Juno, Navy Pillow; as well as the Pyla, Pearl Lumbar Pillow), and the quality is outstanding. When it comes to textiles in the home, fabric truly matters. As a designer, I can immediately tell the difference between cheaply made soft furnishings and well-crafted, high-quality pieces, and Tonic Living consistently delivers quality at a fair price point.

If you’re looking for those finishing touches to elevate your space, Tonic Living is definitely a place to check out. You can also visit their Toronto store, located at 36 Northline Road in East York.

2. Light House Co.

The Best Furniture and Decor Stores In Toronto

This home decor store isn’t a physical location—it’s actually an online vendor based in Ontario, Canada. That said, it absolutely had to make this list because of its incredible selection of home goods.

As the name suggests, lighting is their specialty, and I personally love their fixtures—I’ve even ordered a few for my own condo (you can see one featured above, which is the Atwood Sconce). Beyond lighting, they also offer furniture, accessories, wall decor, rugs, and more.

They have an impressive selection and provide excellent customer support. I’d be surprised if you didn’t find something you love here—this is definitely one of my go-to sources.

3. VdeV

Another home goods store in Toronto that makes the list is VdeV. It’s a gem in the downtown core and one of my go-to spots for home accents.

The style is comparable to CB2 with a touch of Anthropologie—you’re sure to find unique pieces alongside more elevated options, from small soft furnishings and accent pieces to larger furniture items. They also carry great home accessories like candles, wall hooks, textiles, and more.

I also find their pricing to be very fair for the quality and uniqueness of their selection.

4. Socco Living

Socco Living is a store in downtown Toronto that’s similar to VdeV, but with a more organic modern aesthetic. They carry everything from kitchen items and furniture to bedding, candles, and more—it’s a beautifully curated space with a contemporary, elevated feel.

That said, it is on the pricier side, but it’s the kind of place where you might find that perfect piece worth splurging on. It’s definitely a Toronto home store you’ll want to check out.

5. Guff Furniture

If you’re looking for vintage MCM vibes, Guff Furniture is a must-visit. This East End shop is a hidden gem, offering a curated selection of secondhand furniture pieces and home items, typically in a mid-century modern style.

The price point is reasonable, and they’re constantly adding new pieces to their inventory. If you’re on the hunt for something unique and retro to complete your space, this is the spot for you.

6. Bergo Designs

Bergo Designs carries some incredible statement decor pieces. The last time I visited, I fell in love with a set of glass-blown vases—they were definitely an investment, but they’ve stayed on my mind years later.

This store isn’t strictly focused on home accents, as they also carry unique gifts and other interesting finds. That said, the home decor pieces they do offer are truly distinctive and always leave an impression, which is why they earned a spot on this list.

If you’re ever in the Lower East End near the Distillery District, it’s definitely worth checking out.

7. Black Rooster Decor

If you’re looking for a retailer in the city with unique, art deco-inspired pieces, Black Rooster Decor is the spot for high-end, one-of-a-kind furniture finds.

This store truly has incredible pieces—I really can’t find many of them anywhere else. That said, the items here can be on the pricey side, so consider this fair warning! However, I think splurging on the right pieces is totally worth it.

8. The Apartment TO

Here’s another vintage goldmine—a fantastic furniture and decor shop in downtown Toronto, perfect if your aesthetic leans toward vintage with a playful, fun twist. This spot has really cool vintage finds that are whimsical, girly, and totally my vibe. The price point is a bit higher, but considering how unique the pieces are, it’s well worth it.

9. Sundays

Sundays is a cool furniture store on Ossington that features pieces with a minimal, modern aesthetic. They offer beautiful living room and bedroom furniture, as well as unique, futuristic art and accessories. The store is known for quality pieces that are stylish, functional, and built to last.

10. Stylegarage

Stylegarage is the last store on my list of the best furniture and decor shops in Toronto, and it’s definitely worth checking out. Like Sundays, it’s also on the Ossington strip and features a mix of subtly MCM, contemporary, and stylish pieces. I’ve found plenty of furniture I love here, as well as decor items like lamps and tabletop accessories that really impressed me. If your space leans industrial, MCM, or you’re simply looking for high-quality, functional pieces, Stylegarage is a must-visit.
