Let’s talk AI art, In this post, I will be testing the best AI art phone app on the market. Now, I have written countless posts on AI and have actually made a bit of a name for myself in the AI creative world. So, it’s only natural that I test and write about AI art and its impact on interior decorating, while addressing the questions that I—and perhaps you too—have asked:
What can Ai art do?
Can AI art create pieces good enough to decorate your home with?
And, is using AI art even ethical?
In this post, I am going to put one of the best AI art phone apps to the test and see just how effective—or not—it is at generating art.
Plus, a post on me testing all the AI Art apps is coming soon, so subscribe to my blog so you don’t miss out on more juicy reviews.

AVOID COSTLY (AND UGLY) DESIGN MISTAKES

An Artist Tests and Reviews AI Art
Now, who am I to call myself an artist? Well, honestly, it’s been a while since I’ve created art. However, at the beginning of my interior design career, I incorporated plenty of my own paintings into my interiors, and I even started painting portraits. So, to some degree, I believe I can call myself an artist. Maybe I am being coy.
These days, though, I simply don’t have as much time—or space—to create art like I used to. Art takes a lot of time, patience, and skill. Some people don’t have any of those, and others may be missing one or two elements.
So, the questions are: Can AI art make up for what’s lacking? Can AI Art replace the need for actual, real human artists? Let’s dive in deeper.
Can AI Art Be Used To Style Interiors?

^More artwork I created.
Considering I am primarily a designer and decorator, the appeal of AI art is mostly driven by the possibility of using it to decorate and style spaces. This idea first came to mind while I was recently consulting with a client via online interior design about her powder room redesign. She asked me what type of art should go into the space, and I began describing abstract art that mimicked plants.
It was right then and there that I started to ponder whether I should be using AI art, and if so, how I could incorporate it into my profession.
So, after I got off the call with my client, I immediately jumped into researching different AI art apps and came across Imagine.Art. I started to play around with the AI tool (and plenty of others), and decided to put it to the real test on my blog. As we know, I love to put AIs to the test here.

Anyway, let’s get into the testing, shall we?
My Review of Imagine.Art

But first, what can Imagine.Art do?
- Accepts text prompts to generate images.
- Includes an image editor.
- Has a restructure tool that allows you to manipulate AI images.
- Lets you create custom models of items using inspiration or concept photos.
- Offers sketch-to-image functionality.
- Can create a new portrait from an image of someone.
- Provides adjustable settings such as aspect ratio, style, and lighting.
- Allows you to upload an image as guidance for more tailored results.
- Generates text-to-image outputs based on descriptions.
- Offers flexibility in creating both simple and more detailed art pieces.
Considering I am testing this AI art app for its capabilities in styling interiors, I decided to come up with different ideas for artwork and see how the AI interpreted what I was asking.
If you read my latest catch-up blog: Chronicles Of A Traveling Interior Designer: Journal Entry One, you would know that I spent the summer in Croatia.
Now, let’s see what this AI comes up with for a Croatian landscape art piece. I wanted to use their Imagine Guidance feature, so I first uploaded a photo I took during my travels for reference.

I figured that many people might like to use their travel photos as art pieces in their homes, and potentially using AI to restyle the photo could bring new life to an ordinary travel iPhone photo.
This is the output I got with prompting the AI for a Pastel Dream style:

Interior Designer’s Thoughts On AI Art
Hmmm, honestly, I don’t hate it, at all. But, let’s visualize how it would look in an interior, shall we?
To create this interior mock-up I am using the tool Arthelper.ai.

What do I think now that I have visualized this artwork in an interior? Well, honestly, it looks pretty cool. The original reference photo is somewhat dull, and although it is without a doubt a beautiful photo, it doesn’t quite feel like wall-worthy artwork. Imagine.Art was able to transform it into a piece that truly looks ready to hang.
It does have a slightly AI-generated feel, if you know what I mean. However, I wouldn’t say it’s completely off-putting. It looks modern, crisp, and fresh.
Let’s test this AI art phone app again, shall we?
Text-To-Image Feature
This time, I am going to test this AI art phone app with the text-to-image feature. So, this would be helpful for interior design professionals like me who are looking to produce a custom art piece, or maybe if you want an art piece that you can’t seem to find in retailers. Also, this could be helpful for artists looking to spark some inspiration. Can an AI art phone app create good art from just a description?
This is the prompt I typed in: “Can you generate an abstract art piece, that includes different shapes and colours, I want this to be a statement piece that has impact.”
This is the output:

Now, what do I think of this result…
Well, I think this art piece could look really cool when styled in an interior the right way (this is usually my answer to everything interior design related). So, let’s see how it would look in an interior that is mostly neutral.

When it comes to art, there is a lot of subjectivity. You either hate it or love it, and if you’re somewhere in the middle, you might not be that into art to have a strong opinion. Personally, I would rate this art piece a 7/10.
Should You Use an AI Art Phone App to Style Your Home?
So, now that I have tested one of the best AI art apps, Imagine.Art, it’s time to answer the question: Should you use AI art to style your home?
Coming from an interior decorator and artist—but also an AI reviewer—I may have an interesting take. And my take is: if the shoe fits, wear it. If an AI art phone app can produce the type of artwork you desire, I say, hey, I’m not going to knock you. I think AI art apps can create cool art with travel photos, portraits, and even inspire your own artwork, making it usable for decorating your home. I also think it could be useful for professionals like myself, who are constantly visualizing art pieces they want to incorporate into a design but can’t seem to find the right piece.
However, I don’t think you should go AI art–crazy and print out everything the software produces. Artwork should be intentional, just as all interior design should be. I’ve said it many times on the blog, but I’ve seen many people go to HomeGoods, pick up some random beach canvas photo on sale, and put it on their walls without a second thought. The result? They end up feeling very disconnected from their space. Your artwork is something you’ll look at every day, so keep that in mind and be very curated with what you choose to put in your space.
So, my final answer is: using an AI art app for one or two pieces in your home won’t hurt—but using it to completely style a space? That’s a no-go.
Is AI Art Ethical?
Now, here’s an even juicier question: Is using AI art even ethical? Well, this is debatable. What I want to say on the topic is that AI art is cool and can be useful for visualizing artwork or products, and it can also be a fun source of entertainment. However, I do not think it should—or can—replace the work and creativity of real artists.
As someone who produces fine paintings, I will say that admiration for real art is slowly being lost in society. With the production of cheap art, such as AI art, many people may not see the value of—or be able to invest in—genuine artwork. In some sense, AI art is like the fast fashion of the art world. That said, some people can only afford “fast fashion,” so there is a place for both in today’s world.
Is Imagine.Art The Best AI Art Phone App?
So, is Imagine.Art the best AI art app on the market? Well, after some testing, I would give it a solid 8/10. My reasoning is the versatility of this AI. You’re not only able to generate impressive artwork, but you can also create custom models for entrepreneurs launching a product, edit/improve images, restyle elements in a photo, and more.
It’s a very creative and versatile AI that I think would be helpful for a lot of creatives (and hopefully, not work against them in the long run).
