Elements To Consider Adding To Your Living Space
1. A Liquor Cabinet
Here’s a little snippet of a living room I decorated a few years ago. The space is a mix of old and new pieces, and one of the standout additions was this custom liquor cabinet.
Now, if you don’t drink, this might not make sense for your space—but for those who enjoy a nice glass of wine from time to time (you’re not alone on that one), what better place to do so than in your living room? Plus, bar cabinets aren’t just functional; they can serve as beautiful decorative pieces. As you can see here, I’ve styled this one with decor on top, and I designed it to be a statement piece in itself.

2. Add a Fireplace
Here’s a really cool living room I designed not too long ago. It’s a unique and stylish space, and as you can see, the fireplace is the true anchor of the room.
This space originally didn’t have a fireplace—it was something I added. The fun part? My client and I got to select the tile (we went with a bold, funky one!) and be very intentional with the design.
Beyond providing warmth in the winter, the fireplace serves as a stunning architectural feature year-round, adding depth and character to the space. I don’t think you can regret adding a fireplace to a room.
3. Statement Pieces

The living room deserves a statement piece—but what exactly do I mean by that? A statement piece is a bold, eye-catching element that elevates the space and adds personality. This could be:
