Ok, so with the tariff war taking place, Read: Trade Wars: How Tariffs Are Impacting the Interior Design World, and me being Canadian-ish and all, I thought I’d take a moment to highlight some amazing Canadian interior design brands worth sourcing from. I’m a huge advocate for shopping local and small. Honestly, I hate the mall and most big brands. You’ll catch me strolling down Queen Street West, digging through the sale racks at the boutiques. And when it comes to my interior design projects, it’s pretty much the same vibe. I do my best to support local, small and Canadian businesses wherever I can.

Why? Well, it’s one of the best ways to find truly unique pieces and put money back into our own economy. Win-win. So, let me shout out some amazing Canadian interior design brands for you to consider when renovating, building, furnishing and decorating.
The Coolest Canadian Interior Design and Home Brands
1. TilesInspired

Okay, so tiles used to be one of those things that I would have to source in person. However, not anymore. TilesInspired is an online tile store that sends samples directly to you!! Since 2018 they’ve grown to be one of Canada’s largest online tile stores and have proudly supplied thousands of projects, from cozy home renovations to expansive commercial installations. I love this brand because it is so innovative, convenient and allows Canadians to shop for tiles at ease. For free samples, use code: SPACESBYDEESAMPLE and for 10% off your order, use code: SPACESBYDEE10.
2. Fable

Fable is best known for their dinnerware, but they also carry a curated selection of home decor items, including rugs, wall art, and lighting. I love this brand for its sleek, stylish aesthetic, everything feels intentional and elevated. Their dinner pieces are especially hard not to love: simple, clean, and effortlessly elegant. This is a brand that’s been on my radar for a while, and I have to say that their marketing is undeniably effective!
3. EQ3

Coming in at number three, we have EQ3.
EQ3 is one of my go-to sources for sofas, just check out the photo above featuring their Replay sofa in the Seoul Zinnia fabric. This was a bold and fun piece for an equally funky client of mine. What I love about EQ3 is that their designs are modern and sleek, but because many of their pieces are semi-custom, you can dial up the personality as much (or as little) as you like. I find myself sourcing from EQ3 more and more these days, and it never disappoints.
4. Article

Article is a go-to for affordable mid-century modern pieces. I love the variety this brand offers and the overall style of their furniture—it’s clean, modern, and super approachable. With plenty of options across all categories, Article is a great choice for young professionals who want to invest in quality furniture without breaking the bank.
5. Urban Barn

Urban Barn has long been a go-to of mine for drapery, bedding, and decorative accents. I find that they strike a nice balance between transitional and modern styles, making it easy to source for a range of projects. Their pricing is fair, and they also offer semi-custom options on select furniture pieces, which adds great flexibility. Overall, I really enjoy sourcing from Urban Barn and definitely consider them a strong vendor option.
6. Renwil

Renwil has been a brand I have been purchasing from for YEARS now. See the artwork above in the space I decorated a few years ago. They have such a variety of different types of art, it’s incredible. They also carry small furnishings, rugs and unique home decor pieces. Renwil items are available for purchase at retailers online and stores such as The Bay.
7. Decor-Rest

If you are looking for semi-custom soft furnishings and are on a budget, Decor-Rest is your answer. I got the fabulous vintage-inspired-looking chairs in the photo above from Decor-Rest. It was a great price, might I add. They have tons of fabrics to choose from, so if florals aren’t your thing, no need to panic.
8. Anony

Anony is a super cool Toronto-based lighting brand that has light fixtures like I have never seen before. If you are looking for modern, cool and unique lighting, look no further. However, if you are based in the East-end you might want to check out the next lighting bran listed,
9. ANDlight

ANDlight reminds me of Anony – super cool lighting brand. It feels too cool for me, to be honest. But, seriously, if you are looking for amazing lighting from Vancouver, ANDlight certainly has what you’re looking for.
10. Umbra

Umbra has been my go-to for curtain rods and my organizing needs for years now. And who knew it was Canadian?! (while writing this post, I have learned a lot)…
Umbra is amazing for functional home items!
Why It’s Important To Support Canadian Interior Design Brands
I take a deep dive into this topic here: Read: Trade Wars: How Tariffs Are Impacting the Interior Design World. I am sure we are all aware of the trade wars happening, and it’s making home products for you and my clients more expensive. In fact, I got hit with a tariff on a home decor order from a vendor I shop at regularly. It sucks. This is making me EXTRA aware of where I am sourcing/buying. It’s also putting limitations on design. However, I like to look at it from the angle of a challenge: how can I support Canadian interior design brands? Well, the first step is to be informed of which brands are, in fact, Canadian.
So, there you have it, 10 Canadian interior design brands you should definitely check out and support.
